I was wondering if there are cross-river,with
boats, or rubber boats or anything like it.
Is there swimming?
IF not on CM, how about CM2?

No swimming, but there is fording (terrain type dependent) and rubber assault boats.

Last time I recall it being discussed river crossings were in the "nice to do but probably not" category. Nice to see boats made it in.

Putting a river partway across a campaign map could be a great bit of fun.

To clarify:

River crossings in rubber boats and suchlike are in but MAJOR amphibious assaults into the beaches aren't.

Just because I'm a grognard I made a couple of scenarios of beach invasions when i first got CM.. BTS are right not to put them in. It wasn't much fun. The US forces were hacked to pieces before they got to the beach. By the time they disembarked many were panicked and by the end of the game the survivors had all been captured.

Small-scale river assaults could be fun though BUT if you want to avoid a slaughter should be planned for very carefully.
