For the benefit of those who dream of someday coding their own wargame...
I noticed while compiling this evening that the Mac version of TacOps now has 137,107 lines of code.
The 43 text files that comprise the 'C/C++' body of source code total 3.6 megabytes of plain text.
To complete the wastage of half an hour, I merged the source code into a single MS Word document and noted that if printed in a 12 point Courier font, the source code would require 2,900 pages. MS Word also reported that the source code consisted of 290,737 words with 2,887,729 characters (no spaces) or 3,128,737 characters (with spaces).
Sidebar ... since 1994, I have probably completely rewritten the TacOps game engine five or six times during binges of code cleanup, rationalizataion, and op system conversions.
