I have a very old version, 1.04 - and I have missed the game. I have installed it and I am playing it again, but I am wondering if it is worth upgrading to the new 3.0 version. Like many I had awaited TacOps 98 and was saddened when it was stopped. Is this the new alternative? I look forward to everyone's insight, ciao.

TacOps has been undergoing evolutionary upgrades with each version number.
v3.0 is in many ways the same game as v1.04 - there are few radical changes.
However, there are a lot of tweaks, new maps, new units, etc amen. There's a demo on this site you can download and have a look at.
And keep in mind that buying v3.0 makes it more likely that the radical changes internded for T'98 will eventually see the light of day. 8)

Plus you get a mini library of 20 current US Army field manuals in Acrobat Reader PDF format.
And you can practice your French with the optional French user interface http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/smile.gif.
