View Full Version : Mapping idea's
Ok, since Im relativaly new here dont shoot me if the idea was allready offered or even worked out, but I was wondering the following: HAs any one ever thought of making a scenario like the end battle in Saving private Ryan? (Remember where they have to stand strong to keep the bridge). Maybe its difficult to make, I dont know. But I guess it would be interesting to see if it is nearly possible to stand strong with so little resources to a, well lets be honest, pretty vasy deployment of force.
Thnx

Rat..Go to this Website: www.combat-missions.net (http://www.combat-missions.net) then go to scenarios, it should be on the long list and its called Ramelle-Saving Private Ryan, (VERY DIFFECULT for newbies, but its fun, it is by Wild Bill Wilder.

Rat-
The two scenarios mentioned above are the only two I know of. You could always make one yourself, I am not a good scenario designer but I have fun playing with the excellent design tools that come with CM.
Welcome aboard and have fun.

I did not know that Michael had one out there. That is great. I've only played mine...and only about 20 times. I still like to play it. Makes me remember the movie.
I just sent you a copy if you want to try it, Rat.

Wild Bill and I had a long discussion in another thread about the merits of our two scenarios, including I believe some pictures I posted of the set, etc, and I think we expressed a bit of mutual admiration....I certainly don't remember any insults.
In any event, with CMAK on the way, and more realistic machineguns - may be interesting to revisit this one. There are many classics to be rediscovered in the new format.
As long as I don't ever have to play Villiers-Fossard again! :D
