topographic maps - where to find?

I am looking for topographic maps of Western Europe and former German territories as Schlesien, Prussia and so on to improve my map design. Where can I find those maps in the net for download or just for watching ?

Would you know of a source for 1:50,000 or 1:100,000 for Attica region of Greece?

Not specifically... but Oddens (http://oddens.geog.uu.nl/index.html) is not a bad place to begin a search. Multimap (http://www.multimap.com) gives you the scale you're looking for, but without much topo information.
