View Full Version : TRP, why can't you adjust fire.

I' sure this was possible a while ago.
But now when I've called in arty at the TRP, I can't adjust it anymore.

ie, I can move the targeting line, I see the green line indicating
a short enough adjustment, but when I accept, the timer hops up
like it was a whole new target.

Kind of defeats the usefulness of TRP, if you can't walk the arty
from there. The worst part is, I have an eerie feeling this is an
intended feature.

I dealt with this a while ago. Actually acouple weeks ago I got it figured out completly. When you adjusted fire did you move the firing line a far distance from where it was originaly targeting. The reason I ask is I notice if you move your line to far, the time resets. Like I said I figured it out a couple weeks ago and a way around this little pisser. Next time you change your targeting line only move it about 20 meters then click your mouse like you are targeting. Now you can move your line again 20 more meters without time delay or reset.
Just move targeting line 20 meters or so at a time.

I wonder if this isn't related to the fix for the bug that allowed you to sometimes adjust fire hundreds of meters from a TRP and still get the TRP time bonus?

Might be.
Me? I'd just want the same adjustment chances as with normal targeting. http://www.battlefront.com/discuss/frown.gif

Shatter, Jarmo was getting the green retarget LOS line, meaning the new target should have been treated as an adjustment. When the LOS line is blue, that means the new target is NOT an adjustment from the old.

If his observations are accurate, and green LOS retargets are being time delay'd as brand new targets, then this is an issue.

However, there will almost always be SOME time delay increase when adjusting fire, even from a TRP. The artillery has to change bearing, etc etc.
