I've been trying for a number of weeks now to set up a German sound mod, but it hasn't been working very well.
My tools- my Windows sounds recorder and microphone device. I've been trying to set it up by making my sound, and then giving it it's file name and placing it in the WAV folder. Everything looks fine until I play the game. When the new sound that I set up, is qued up and should register...I hear a quick, high-pitched scratch/squeak.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem or set up the files so that they will register with the audio without this squeak/scratch...?

It's probably because they aren't sampled in the same Hz.

I can't remember what CM's sounds are sampled in, but I know they are different between the full version and the Gold demo and they aren't compatible, so I'd say that may be your problem.

Correct. Check the mhz and bit on the original file using "properties and than detail (I think)". If I recall, most (if not all) at 44,100 mhz and 16 bit. Then check your "new / mod" file. Is it the same?

Here it is........

On my SOUND MOD it reads:
22,050 Hz 8 bit, mono

Great help guys. Now that we have targeted my problem, how do I fix it?

You need to record the sounds using the same
44,100 and 16 bit format.

You get a program that lets you select the frequency and bit rate. Simple as that.
