Hello,
first off i would like to say i think you have the makings of a great game on your hands...my main problem is i purchased the game to PBEM with my friend who lives in another state, and we have yet to get the game to workthrough email. We have tried all the patches you have suggested, even tried zipping the files. My friend was getting booted everytime he tried to load a PBEM game...that is no longer happening, but now when either of us tries to load a PBEM game sent from the other person, we get an error message that tells us we have old files from previous editions that cannot be read. The problem is, we are both running 1.04 and do not have old games in our PBEM folder. After 2 weeks of trying to get this to work, and trying the solutions on this board, we are getting frustrated. Any help in the matter would be appreciated.

regards, Warlocke

Hi Guys,

Just to be on the safe side, try deleting the PBEM and SAVE folders completely, make sure you are both running v1.04 and try using Winzip if you feel the PBEM files are being stripped by your ISP, i.e. the PBEM files should at least be > 300K. If when you send and receive normally they are still at that size then Winzip is not necessary.

If the PBEM files load but crash during PBEM replay then please use the temporary 'replay fix' found at:

http://www.furysoftware.com/download/sc.zip

This zipped file will have to be extracted to your SC installation folder and the time stamp should be
September 10th, 2002 7:45 PM for the 'SC.exe' file if extracted properly.

If after all this it still doesn't work, please send me the PBEM file that seems to be causing the problem at

support@furysoftware.com

and I'll take a look.
