Hi,
Is there any way to open a SAV game from other person?
I have tried to copy his SAV game to my \SAVE directory.
Unfortunately, SC signals an error message (too quick to be read) and quit to the desktop.

If so then you should copy it into the \PBEM directory, give that a try.

Er, on the other hand have a look in the "Unable to load PBEM game" thread, as there are a few other things that might be causing your problem.

No, I am not referring to PBEM games.
The idea is to discuss the situation in a SAV game with my friend.
I am using 1.04 patch. Windows 98 SE, Pentium III-500

The problem may be similar to PBEM games as well if you have been sent the SAV game via email as some ISP's strip the contents of these files. Regardless, SC should be trapping these errors properly now, so if this is not the case I would like to take a look. Can you send me the file in question if possible?
Thanks,
Hubert

Hi Hubert,
I have sent my copy to support@furysoftware.com.
I must clarify one thing, that the error occurs after the LOAD SAVED button is pressed. If I delete this game from \SAVE directory, I can see the LOAD SAVED GAMES window normally.

Hi Dolphin,
I took a look at the file and it loads properly with my version 1.04 of Strategic Command. The file name is June2.sav but the in game date is November 13, 1942 to verify.
Try double checking the version of Strategic Command you are running, the version number is at the bottom right hand corner of the 'MAIN MENU' screen and should read v1.04, as it may be possible the latest patch was not installed properly.
Hope this helps,
Hubert

Thx Hubert,
After reinstalling and applying the patch again, I finally can load the game. Sorry, it was a false warning.
