Rejoining split squads in foxholes

I am having trouble getting my split squads to reform into whole squads in CMBO. I set up several squads as split in order to get fall-back foxholes. However, when I try to sneak the rearward halves of the squads forward to rejoin their buddies, they reach the forward foxhole and then turn around and start marching back from whence they came.

Any tips?

Move them in 15 meters or less, but not less than 5 emeters. less than 5 meters triggers the traffic jam code and they will disperse, often outside the joining range.

Why isn't this in the manual? Must be some knowledge you can gain from military training manuals.
