View Full Version : So how many of you are going to redo your CMBO scenarios in CMAK?

I'm getting the impression that the CMBO world is going to be reborn in CMAK!

And yes from my miserable earlier days a few of my first scenarios will be converted into the land were the Machine Gun actually kills.

Only if there is a converter program to do that. I like to see some old scenario's i.e. Noville Team DeSobry is one I really like to see back.

-- Chance Encounter (where do you hide the german battalion ?)

No snow? We ought to have snow in Italy. Is there any confirmation that snow will be missing from CMAK?

I hope not. Since it's already in the engine, its removal would just be a limitation of the hopes some of us have for reviving CMBO in CMAK.

I will probably redo one or two of mine as well. Securing the Dropzone, and 49th Recce are top on the list.

I have Villers-Bocage Tiger! map already in the Mapping Mission format, so exporting it into CMAK will be just one click away (after Leland updates the program). And this time I don't have to substitute the Brits with Soviets.

I'll be converting my CM:BO and CM:BB scenarios over - including the ever-popular Inferno and Cheery Waffles. :mad:

Hmm, in order to popularise my cult, I could take requests. Although this could get embarassing if nobody wants any converted :D

So, other than 49th Recce and Securing the Dropzone, which of my scenarios would people like to see converted?

That actually is a very nice screenshot. The image seems to have a whole new depth. Is it the improved background bmp's that does it? Or bigger map? Or am I just imagining?

I already redid Last Defense in CMAK and it plays VERY WELL but it probably won't be included with the game, rather I will release it on CMHQ along with some other goodies once the game is out.

I'll probably redo just about all of mine, for what its worth: so long as we can get "french" looking terrain and whatnot.

Is that possible, btw? Are there any restrictions on redoing old scenarios? Such as vehicle or OB availability? Or terrain limits e.g., no bocage?

Vehicle and TO&E availability (and rarity) are, however, coded for Italy, not Normandy, so indeed you might run into some issues when converting scenarios here and there. CMAK is not intended to merely be a CMBO in a new set of clothes; even if it will be possible to convert scenarios with a bit of creativity, the main concern was to make it work correctly for what it's supposed to do, and that is Italy.

Is there any chance at all of a patch adding the few CMBO vehicles that aren't present in the Italian theatre?
King Tiger, JadgTiger, Cromwell, Comet, M36

I myself find it almost impossible to go back to CMBO after CMAK, and adding those few vehicles would mean there was no need to. I'd really love to see this, but aren't holding my breath.

It would be good to have those in there - is that really all that is missing? I think some of the heavier arty is missing too?

Yes we have come a long way, I too cannot even open CMBO anymore. Nor do I touch CMBB for that matter.

J2D put up a Burma scenario, Small Battles, Burma Relief (close to your pacific front)scenario at SD.

thanks hans, yep i dl all your battles. see you changed to sb,. found a uniform mod by MSW, britsburma for bo. green with a slouch hat that doesnt work in ak. i can green up the carriers and trucks but tanks i dont know. might play it as is.

Hans you should get to work on converting some of those CMBO scenarios. Haven't even tried in a long long time to play CMBO . Think I will give it a try in a few minutes just to remind myself what it looked like.

the scenario depot has a bunch of bo like and remakes by hsg and csdt. hans has made some euro battles as well.
the winter ones look great

at cmmods, three mods to help these new battles look like europe.
UI stuff with euro maps and start screens, TBM Ardennes mod terrain for winter battles, Winter in terrain windows for unit UI.

the winter ones look great The Scenarios put out by HSG are all new scenarios. There are no remakes in there. We may cover some of the same battles but the ones we are putting out are from scratch. HSG never posted any CMBO scenarios so it was easy for us to make new ones.

CSDT is redoing some of theirs I believe.
