Found this while trying to help rune. It's called South African Battle Honours and should be useful because it provides key information describing all the theaters and time periods where South African forces fought during World War II. Many choices!

Got that earmarked too, thanks anyway John. Discovered it 2 weeks ago via google.

The South African military museum has a bit more detailed info online. In fact, if anybody needs more SA sources, Rune and JonS (probably) is THE walking references hereabouts.

Sincerely,
Charl Theron

Sorry no, not for SA. I have a few bits and pieces, but the only thing specific to the Yarpies is Agar-Hamiltons book on Crusader.

Rune, have you had a look at the relevant British Official History (by Molony and/or Playfair)? While they understandably concentrate on British activities, they do give good coverage of the other Allies and the opposing German forces. They usually has fairly useful maps too (I see you have a topo already, but the OH will give you position of forces, units, thrusts, etc). Let me know if you don't have access to them.

Yeah, I had a lot of contact with the South Africa Military Museum. They were very very helpful in my research of the SA TO&E. I rreally don't want to bother them for La Foce.

Wanted to add that most of my South African discoveries are in rune's thread
