Well, since I don't know any of you personally, having never met you IRL, I feel you are the perfect people to help me with my problem. As you all spend hours hunched over a computer screen reading every piece of drivel posted, have 1000's of posts yourself, I feel that you and I are like brothers. Brothers in arms so speak.
So I come across this webpage with this really hot chick on it. I don't know her name, where she lives or even if she really exists, as opposed to being some CGI biznitch that just gave me wood.
As you all are suave mutha-f*ckers in your own right, how should I handle the next step? I was thinking about getting some bad-ass software ****e, hacking the site, tracking her down, stalking her for like a week or so, then one night just jumping out of some bushes and grabbing her. I was thinking Ford Econoline van cuz dat's wat da pimp-ass serial killaz lik to use but if any of you have a better ideas, do tell.
Thanks in advance.

As a former Catholic, I'd like to register my support for the uber-<font size=1>penguin</font> Seanachai in his quest to become the new Pope. I figure he's as well-qualified as any of the other candidates, and he probably has fewer skeletons in his closet. Who better than a <font size=1>penguin</font> to complete John Paul II's legacy of making the Roman Catholic church a cult? :D :D

In your brain-addled condition, I imagine you are easily distracted by moving lights, including those induced by frequent overindulgence in various mind-altering substances. This presents us with a conumdrum, as for mind-altering substances to take effect, one must first possess a mind, and science has yet to discover one anywhere on your person.
Well, anyway, to return to the issue in question, I have posted before that I was present at the laying of the foundations of the universe. And I have found the staggering attempts of your sub-species to attain "intelligence" alternately amusing and pathetic. Working on Saturday ROXXERS!!!!
Overdue Gamey game update:
Psuedo is boring me. That maggot couldn't chuck molten TNT with a trebuchet.
Snarker and I are finally working towards an end in a year old re-match. He titled the files 'Satisfaction'....quite aptly cuz I am kicking his danglies through the top of his empty dome.
Becket is playing like an old man f*cks. He is good for maybe 3 turns a week. But he can keep up the 'Temple of Mediocrity', aka his homo blog. What a maggot.
Wallybob is yapping at my ankles like the lapdog that he is. But to his credit this scenario is more unbalanced than Mace.
Gonna need another maggot to step up. Axe...Dave H? Either of you two cousin humping maggots bored?

I had the pleasure of playing Jim Boggs in several PBEMs, and he always brought a smile to me with his wit and sometimes with his tactics. We also corresponded at length during his wife's illness, when he stopped playing to take care of her. Although I never had the chance to meet him in person, I counted him a friend and always will. Jim Boggs, you Waffle maggot, may your TNT always be molten and angry. :D :D :D

It does, Soddball, it does. They're such right bastards that when they go, almost no one has sympathy, and the event is little noted.

Gamey updates:
Snarker's arty spotter is helping my arty spotter destroy the evil krauts in a sandy scenario.
Axentut is facing an onslaught of furious angryfied Russians. I have destroyed most of his fortified village with big caliber arty and big caliber clankies. His feared panthers are no more. Yet, his cowering krauts only have to hold out for a few more turns.
Wallybob is lost somewhere in the tall grass in his backyard. When he finds his way home, he will find a fair number of his kraut clankies were crunched by my crusty brits in a sandstorm.
KiwiMike is attacking my kraut occupied Italian village. He had a horde of shermans. My three kraut tanks, one of which is a Tiger, has whittled the horde down substantially, yet he still has almost 3:1 odds. He has me almost surrounded. He is a tricky one and I have my glass eye on him.

Hi guys,
I have been sniffing around the boards a bit for the past couple of weeks, after a year or so of real-life turmoil. Things have settled down to the point now where the IRS says I only owe $22,000 (the bastiche’s).
I would like to offer my sincerest apologizes to whom I left hanging with PBEM games. I did not do that lightly and honestly try to honor such commitments. I cannot remember whom I was playing but know I had a couple games in progress. I apologize gentlemen.

Not sure if I want to get wrapped up in a groggish campaign. I think there'd be far too much emphasis on the hardware, and not nearly enough on the intangibles. I'd prefer a campaign run as a free kriegspiel, where the umpire can be very arbitrary. Something like Chris Engle's Matrix games (http://www.io.com/~hamster/) would be ideal. :D :D

I need to find somefink to play against Kiwi Mike. I had better luck against him in our last match.
It was just a game of dice rolls - how was I to know that charging a dozen vanilla Shermans agaisnt a Tiger & 2 P-4's would result in 11 dead Shermans!! :(

I think I played that scenario against the suave Teddy Windsor. It's a tough battle for the Americans.
Think my new GF thread about robotic camel jockies can avoid the dreaded padlock of doom for a few hours? :D :D
I finally posted a few times on the linked political forum. BIG MISTAKE!! Dalem is the voice of moderation over there. The forum administrators will not tolerate any views that don't mirror their own. I can live without their personal abuse, and I'm sure they'll be happier without me, too.

But Dalem as a moderator?? That's like....just wierd!!If I remember the scenario, without the Shermans there's not much chance for the American infantry to root out the Germans. There were lots of walls for defenders to hide behind and cut infantry to shreds.
I didn't mean to imply dalem was one of the moderators. He was the only forum member to express his disagreement to a "Senior Member" who started with a personal insult right off the bat. I really appreciated that, because dalem and I have our disagreements before, too. One of the forum moderators started the thread that I made my first post in. I think I'll try attending white-supremacist militia meetings and KKK rallies from now on; I'd expect to meet a more open-minded group of people there.
lol - and you got the wrong scenario - this one has a dozen Kiwi Shermans & 2 recon platoons attacking a company of Germans Fallschirmjager & the 3 tanks.

Well gang. I've been quiet the last week or so, because I was preparing for a job interview this morning.
The job is for manager of public and government affairs with the Canadian Automobile Association. One of my former co-workers took a job there and loves it.
So the interview was three hours (!). I'm pretty wiped now. I need a nap. Then, a couple of pints and the pub with dad, then home (n.b Watson & Crick ) and then I'll tell you more about it.
So my turn rate should improve too. And, fortunately for all of you scumbags, my posting rate will return to normal.

So, you may be wondering, why I applied for the job.
I've been a reporter for the last seven years, won five national awards and am being groomed for an editor's position.
However---the editors in our division have been hanging onto their jobs like grim death. Since I started, only two positions have come open, both of them less than a year after I started.
The experience level? 30+, 26, 14, 12, 7 years for each of the editors' position. They aren't going anywhere soon.
Plus, the salary (not that money has anything to do with it) is double at this position!
So I spent three hours at the interview and the director who conducted the second part spent 30 more minutes with me, despite having an 11 a.m. interview. Then he walked me down two floors to the front door.
Good sign?
I hope so. Stay tuned. They said no more than two weeks to the final decision.
Best of all, it's a new position. That way they can't say, "The last guy here did....."
Of course, I can't fall back on the "It was like that when I got here" defence. :D

This dude is sicker than Axe (http://www.spunangel.com/opossum/index.html). You have to read this. His dog kills a oppossum. For some strange reason he wants the skull.
Here are a couple of quotes from his "experiment:" "So on Sunday I'm trying to drink an entire one-gallon, one-quart and nine ounces store-keg of Beck's beer. The girlfriend has taken off in a snit. She did not buy my argument that since the keg says it should be consumed within 24 hours of tapping, I have to finish it today."
He also does not understand Canuckistanis
"Also, since I have received a sceptical email from some non-scientist (Canadian at that) who believes I am actually making most of this up.. the ISBN number of the book I mentioned yesterday is 0-345-37477-0 and the page with prices in different currency seems to indicate it is available in Canada and other third-world countries, not just the US.
My correspondent is probably just jealous that it is so cold in Canada that after several hours this whole project would be an ice-skating rink for cockroaches. I just don't get those northerners."

SADDAM PALACE
Dear Sir,
I got your contact from the World Trade Organisation directory of the US,Canada& European Union and I am very sorry to interrupt your peace since you are not expecting to receive any mail from me.
However, I was obliged to do so due to the importance and urgency of the message. I crave your indulgence, and want to reassure you that I mean well and that it is only for our mutual good. So please do not be embarrassed.
My name is Dr.Michael Hammer, I am a social worker with an international-Governmental/Voluntary organization based in Africa. I am the Accounts/ Project Director in-charge of the Middle East regional representation. Our organization, through local NGO'S and other Agencies and in partnership with the United Nations High Commission for Refugees, UNHCR, UNESCO, etc works and sponsors development projects and social services in some third world/developing countries, assistance and re-settlement of victims of natural disaster, civil wars and Refugees, displaced/oppressed children and minority people around the world.
I am just back from Iraq where in the cause of performing our duties we found a huge amount of cash in an abandoned Palace, I reached an agreement with the members of my team whom are UN officials and we agreed to keep this money to ourselves and then moved the box out of Iraq to Europe (with their immunity as UN officials they are not searched at borders or airports). Now, I am in need of a reliable and trustworthy person or company overseas whom I can confidently work with since my work does not permit me to own a foreign bank account or any personal business until retirement, I have the honor to confide this information in you and to request for your pleasure to assist to receive and secure the money in your account, pending our retirement from service.
Please understand that my approach to you is based only on my positive reasoning and on the belief that you will not disappoint or betray me at last. The amount is fairly huge and we have agreed that on completion of the deal, you will retain some reasonable percentage of the money(20%) as a compensation for your assistance.the amount of the money is FIFTEEN POINT FIVE MILLION UNITED STATES DOLLARS To consider our official positions, reputation and integrity, especially, the opportunities in the business itself, it is very necessary that all due care be taken so that we do not miss the opportunity due to carelessness.
You are therefore expected and advised to display high degree of maturity, responsibility and understanding in handling this information. I will give you all the details in my next mail when you have indicated your interest and commitment to work with me. Always remember that this is the highest confidence and trust any person can repose on the other, especially when it is considered that we did not know ourselves before. I hope you will honor me too.
We can come over to join you for sharing and to guarantee that we have unlimited access to you before and when the funds hit your account.Moreso for an effective and easy communiation I will advice that you furnish me with your telephone, cell and I eagerly await your positive response.
Best regards,

I have many other offers. As a matter of fact, I am apparently the most trustworthy person using the internet, and am therefore a spam billinaire. Anybody want some of my 'riches'?

My stoopid hot water heater is leaking. I have placed several calls to plumbers. Any of you maggots know how much it will cost to replace a gas hot water heater (30 gallons I think)? If it wasn't gas, I'd do it myself.

Well, it will set me back $600, installed monday by home depot. GE 40 gallon with a 9 year guarantee. If I had it installed today or tomorrow, it would cost $1100.
I can suffer with a cold shower tomorrow for a $500 savings.

That price includes removal of the old and installation of the new as well as the cost of the new tank. I *might* have found something cheaper, but no one else bothered to return my call.

The only real savings is from doing it yourself, as I am sure you know. Enjoying your new water heater will make it all worthwhile. I like Home Depot for many reasons. Good selection, good prices and I no longer need to pay for a gym membership. I just go down to my local Home Depot and load carts with lumber, decide their price is to high and leave…it’s a fabulous and cost effective workout!

Make sure you do the following at least 1x a year - 2x is better. Follow the directions in order or you will stir the sediment in the bottom of your heater up.
Don't use the hot water for about an hour. Attach a hose to the bib (spigot) at the bottom of your water heater. Turn off the water feed to the tank. Open a hot water tap furthest from your heater. Fully open the spigot at the bottom of your heater and let about 5 gallons of water out. This will flush out any sediment and your heater will work better and be much more likely to function correctly for many, many years to come.

Yep, any banging noises from your water heater is caused by the sediment layer. You may need to do this a few times if it hasn't been done in ages. Getting rid of the sediment gets rid of the noise (if you have it) and the eliminates the excessive heating of the bottom of the tank resulting from the sediment. It's that overheating that reduces the tank's life.
If you have hot water baseboard heating, turning your heat on and then opening the water feed fully then slowly opening theflush outlet a bit at a time will get rid of the noise there too and lower your heating bill to boot - you eliminate the air pockets. Um, put a hose on the outlet and run it to a drain.

I was just thinking about the hose dealy. Since my water heater is in a tiny hall "closet" nook (and I've a ranch-style on a concrete slab), I'll have to run a hose across the hallway to my tub I guess. Or should I run it out into a bucket (in the tub)? I've got a septic tank and don't know how much "sediment" to expect, but don't want to gum up the works.

Bucket, or even right out the door if you have a garden hose. Just reconnect the hose outside and flush it for a minute or two when you finish.
