It got a 90% review in PC Gamer, so I was thinking of checking it out. Any of you play it? If so what do you think of it?

Is it at all like the boardgame "Axis and Allies"?

It is a very good game, but my description would not do it justice, just head over to the forum. The game's creator is almost always around.

I play it. It is like Axis and Allies, although I think it it quite a bit better. They found a good balance between details and playability. You could say that Combat Mission is like an improvement on the board game Squad Leader and Strategic Comand is like an improvement of the board game Axis and Allies.

Personally I'm waiting for Paradox' Hearts of Iron (http://www.paradoxplaza.com/hearts.asp). No I'm not really waiting, because I'm one of the lucky ones in the beta test. :D

Here (http://www.europa-universalis.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?s=d85d48487b0c7f69fcdb6d2483460c2 2&forumid=79)'s a link to their forum. smile.gif

I played the demo of Strategic Command, though, but I found it a bit lacking in depth, sort of like a slimmed down version of 360s High Command.

It is a very good game, though a very abstracted one. I really enjoy it for 2-3 hour games.

If only I hadn't received it at the same time as CMBB, I might have had some more time to play by now...
