Fantastic scenario but yes its hard work. Managed to win as Brits without loosing single bogged vehicle but takes considerable patience. I was on a high when I eventually entered the town and the Germans started to run...wow.

My question - sorry if I missed it in the manual... I gave orders for vehicles to go under the stone bridge, on the road. However the vehicle AI refused and started to make them go over the hill next to the road. I then tried bypassing the stone bridge, i.e. down the slope to the left of the bridge. The AI again started them up the hill to find a gentle slope to reach the road. This second case I understand, but of course immediately stopped because they would get bogged down, but why couldn't I get them under the bridge, did I miss some method?

Thanks again for hours of fun!

I'm guessing that CM just models "bridges" as being part of the same plane as the actual ground, and thus the vehicle viewed the bridge as an obstruction that had to be driven around.

Yep KMHPaladin you are right because the path line bends up over the bridge instead of through or under it. In the support forum someone else mentioned this but there was no clear answer on making it work, I tried many times and always failed, very frustrating. Thought there might be some trick to making it work...still excellent scenario because going all the way round via the rail bridge is a challenge in itself.

Oggi, that sounds very strange.
I PBEM'ed this scenario a couple of months ago, as the Brits.
When I ordered tanks to go under the first bridge, the movement-line went *over* the bridge... BUT - the vehicles passed under it, just as I had intended.

I played it on v1.05 iirc, what version are you playing it on?

I played this about a month ago. I saw the same behavior -- the line went up over the bridge, but the unit went under. In the process of trying to figure that out I ended up with waypoints on either side of the bridge -- maybe that made the difference?

Thanks for the replies, when set the path bent up and over the bridge but when executed the vehicles plotted back over the mountain. I will have to try again, maybe I gave up to easily. I am using lastest patched version. Will try again, thanks guys.
