I am unable to demo the game on my mac. The game loads but when it comes to the actual play screen there is just black with an occasional distorted graphic. I here cool noises though. I have a PowerComputing PowerCenter Pro 180 upgraded with a VooDoo3 card.

What OS are you running ? This sounds like an error with the display driver. Do you have the latest driver for the Voodoo 3 loaded up ? You may want to make sure that you're loading up the RAVE extensions. I'm not aware of any GLIDE extension problems with the Voodoo 3 series.
To get the latest Mac drivers go here:
(3dfx isn't linking to their drivers page at the moment):

You may also want to download some OpenGL updates - like v. 1.1 (though CM doesn't utilize OpenGL code, some of the extensions affect the card functionality).
OpenGL 1.1.2:

Here's some discussion that may apply to you and your Mac compatible (under "Voodoo 3 Problems" thread):

You might try installing the new OpenGL 1.2.1 version. It fixed all sorts of problems with CM and my Radeon card.
1.2.1 will be released officially as part of OS 9.1 but a pre-release version is included with the CroMag Rally demo.
You can find a link to it at www.insidemacgames.com. (http://www.insidemacgames.com.)
Good luck.
