What exactly changes on the map if you use the editor to increase the map to 256x256?...does the scale change, for example from 50 miles per tile at 120x38 to roughly, 15 miles per tile? I'm just wondering if the tile map amount changes the original scale of the map to become a truly "monster game"....

Im intressted in this too. For myself a "monster game" would drive me more than "monster unit graphics".

The [width]x[height] represents the number of tiles. So a 256x256 map would be 256 tiles wide and 256 tiles high... now with some scale adjustments, i.e. how many miles do you want each tile to represent, by a modder... world map anyone? ;)

Sounds intressting. On 256*256 world map a tile would be 100 Miles or 160 KM. Six Tiles from Berlin to Warsaw. This will shrink the main battlefields in eruope but unlimited strategies arround the world. smile.gif

Yes, I this was exactly what I was driving at before.

World map,
WWI,
Specific theatre: BoB, EF, WF, japan
or even korean war...
or any other era really...

SC2 editor strikes me as very powerful...
I guess Hubert did not desire programming the AI for World SC (I dont blame him!)
I'll settle for an excellent russian campaign,
with a few Ukrainian partisans to make it interesting (my brethren).

Side Note: Unfortunately History hasnt provided a good guy on the Eastern front. It took 45 years to accomplish what Patton wanted...
