View Full Version : Cheery Waffles thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster for a CMX2 Forum

At last the voice of the people - well, Axe - has been heard and a new forum for the manymanymanymanymany CMX2 threads is open. And who is there to greet this brave new world? Why, the Cheery Waffles of course, keeping the world safe from the jewel-encrusted TNT chucker MasterGoodale (the maggot) and promoting the use of smilies for these many years. :D :D
Don't let the slackers in the penguin thread fool you, this is where we actually accomplish something important. If this forum was to fall victim to MasterGoodale (the maggot) and his penchant for starting new threads, you'd know. :D :D

That's right maggots, this is the best war game ever made, hands down. I am astonished time and time again how damn smart the AI is. Last night 2 of my tanks were following orders I had issued and the little bastages took it upon themselves to pull a manuever that in the end turned out being a smarter move then the one I had ordered (due to a change in enemy positions). I love tis game. I don't understand why some people are beeeatching about a patch. They just released the game for the love of a grunts flesh! Give em a break these things take time! Maybe they wanted to take a vacation after the release. the game is almost perfect as it is and only needs minor adjustments. I am so into this game I can't even describe it. The rush I get when I blast grunts with HE and watch them retreat with a look of panic on their faces is just glorious!! OOOHHHH the huuuuMMAAAANITY!! My eveil grin shines in the monitor's light at wee hours of the morning as I cackle madly while my soldiers unleash hot, bitter fury upon my foes. Sometimes I giggle kind of loud and my wife hears me upstairs and thinks I'm Mad. But I don't care!! I'm a killin' Kraut grunts and that's all I need to keep me happy.
You guys did such a great job with this game. It's a rare jewel and I tell EVERY gamer I know to buy it. I'm just gonna pass out when CM3 is released I know it. It's not that often that a game this polished, detailed, stable and in-depth hits the market let me tell ya mister. I've been around the gaming block a time or two, probably before most of your grannies were in diapers and I haven't seen many like this.
Great job Battlefront!!!!! AAARRRGGGARARRAGAGRAGRRGAGRAGRAGRAGR!!!!
I'm gonna take a vacation just so I can play uninterupted and undisturbed. . . tongue.gif

Okay, we've got Axe suffering from food poisoning, Soddball fascinated with acting like a zombie - there's a real stretch, YK2 so infatuated she wanders in here, Pseudo playing like he's Soddball, Wallybob ducking a hurricane, gas prices headed for a dollar a quart, and me with a bit of time on my hands. So let's talk about Australians and suicide (two subjects that seem very right together).
I just saw a statistic that every year 1% of Australians attempt suicide, with a 1 to 5 percent success rate. Why are Australians so keen on killing themselves, and why are they so incredibly inept at it?
Does the whole suicide thing have something to do with having New Zealanders and the penguins in Antarctica for neighbors? Look at us, we have to put up with Mexicans and Canadians for neighbors and we tolerate them much better.
Only about .01% of Americans attempt suicide each year. When Americans try it, though, they tend to be much better at it than the Aussies. About 11 percent are successful each year. Just some food for thought. I'll be curious to see if Mace has any input on this cultural phenomenon.

My, what a cheery topic! Reminds me of Grade 12 French class where we were supposed to create a magazine in French. Ours was Suicide Monthly (I think Hemingway was on the cover). Looking back, I can't believe the teacher didn't even say anything.
Originally posted by Dave H:

Yes DaveH, that problem does seem to be quite prevalent. In particular, for some unknown reason the suicide rate amongst my neighbours is far far higher than the national rate.
I did suggest a series of exit surveys, but we never seem to get any returns.
but the real reason?
from some Commonwealth Government website:
Rates of self-harm and attempted suicide are difficult to compare internationally because of the definitional and reporting problems outlined in the earlier section on this topic

Nothing like a bit of official double talk to make problems go away. My concern was that the statistics completely overlooked playing footie as a way of committing suicide. Bad news from Katrina - the US Department of Agriculture's National Finance Center (http://www.opm.gov/cfc/opmmemos/2005/2005-6nfc.asp) is in New Orleans. Thanks. There are still one whole bunch of folks much worse off than we. My prayers go out to them. In the Birmingham Metro area, there are about 50,000 people still without power, down from a peak of around 200K. Mobile and Western Alabama took a pretty good hit, let alone Mississippi and Louisiana.
The peak power hits were:
Birmingham 226,202
Mobile 198,221
Tuscaloosa 148, 920
Anniston 41,585
Montgomery 19, 512
Euafaula 214

Everytime I hear "Shoot the looters", what gets on my mind is Herodotus' story of the conversation between Croesus and Cyrus.
After the Solon episode and Cyrus sparing his life, Croesus, observing the Persian soldiers plunddering Lydia asks Cyrus what they are doing. Cyrus replied that they are plunddering your city and riches, to which Croesus retorts that its not mine but your city and riches...
BTW what's that dry levee song, you know the one that has the line "the day the music died"? Oh I've got it American Pie, that's the song resounding in my head watching cable news. (The origional version, definately not the atrocious Madonna one.) ;)

Always good to hear from all of you "shoot the looters" types. This situation is so blatantly racial, so hypocritical that it's already found its way to Snopes.com. Check out the two photos and the captions. Black people loot, white people find. (http://www.snopes.com/photos/katrina/looters.asp)
As far as somebody taking a TV, that person is too uneducated or ignorant to understand how serious the circumstances were. Apparently he or she planned to sit back and wait for the electricity to come back on to catch the next mind-numbing episode of "American Idol". If it makes you feel any better, maybe by now they've drowned inside their home like so many others did, or died of exposure after being "rescued" and flown to an overpass to await transportation that didn't come.
I watched a report last night showing crews starting to clean up the belongings left behind by the refugees outside the Superdome while a few blocks away human bodies are still floating in the streets. It's interesting to see exactly what the priorities of the disaster effort really are - protecting replaceable property first.

Hello maggots. It's me...the resident "I have nothing to contribute so I guess I will stalk the Cheery Waffle thread" guy.
I live in central Mississippi near our capital (that's Jackson for all of you slope headed ninnies who are still living in your parents spare bedroom). We are slowly getting our stride again now that we have some gas in our tanks. Just wanted to let you know that this lame (like Axe), pointless (live Dave), and often incomprehensible (like Prince Eugen) thread has made me laugh quite a bit since last week. I (regretfully  ) have to thank all of you piss-filled hooligans for contributing in ways your obviously small little minds can not begin to conceive.
As a state we have a loooooong way to go yet. While we Mississippians may be poorer than most other states, we are an incredibly resiliant and resourceful people. Our faith is only matched by our drive to rebuild. It's gonna take a lot of time, heartache and money...but we'll be all right.
Now...that being said, please send us all of your maggoty-laced, putrid smelling cash so we can get 90,000 square miles of our state rebuilt!
And if Canadians are actually using paper money now for legitimate transactions instead of sun-dried moose paddies, we will even be glad to get some of that as we are running low on toilet paper down here.
So, a hearty thank you and and please...sincerely....kiss both of my moldy, flake encrusted, pimple scarred butt cheeks.

3) It is a fairy tale, used to keep little children quiet. "Johnny, you be good, or I'll send you to Mississippi!"
4) it is where Alabama seems to send most of it's drunk drivers, 'cause that's all I have seen there.

I ain't a woman and I sure the hell ain't consenting with the likes of you! Find something that is a combined arms battle. All infantry bores me. I'll try to send a turn or two this week.
Saturday, I'm off to D.C. for a well-timed vacation AND something big. I'm a candidate for FEMA director. Dealing with all the natural and unnatural disasters that you maggots have spawned has put me on the short list. I am also well-qualified at doing nothing, something the previous director did well. I can spend billions of dollars quite well too. Liquor, lap dances (from Pseudo and Mace) and lottery tickets for all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awww c'mon. I was JOKING. I figured that you did not set it up that way and that it was a mistake of the designer. All wafflers accuse everyone of being a gamey cheatin' bastiche. That's part of the fun.
I could be smacktarded. I tried setting those troops up and I could not place them in a setup zone or anyplace else. Anyhoo, if you want to try somefink else, send it my way.
In other gamey news, the perpetual school-boy and I finished a QB with a "draw" according to the computer. I don't quite understand how because he held two major flags whilst I held one minor one
My american troops are attacking Wally's krauts in a big explody, lotso clankie fictional scenario. I am dropping TNT on some stubborn krauts in a trench while he is slaughtering my guys in the woods in another part of the map. Death abounds already and we are only in turn 7, I believe. Only 43 or more turns to go.....
Kiwi Mike is destroying buildings with kraut howitzers and then shelling my fleeing americans with TNT. I hate him and his idea of urban renewal.

Crappy day. Got up early to take the wife to get her car looked at. Shop didn't open on time (unusual). Almost late for school. She calls later saying the timing belt is kerflooie, and total should be around $600. Nope, it turns out to be around $830. Going to have to dip into the money I had been saving for a new Ural motorcycle. Got home after a workshop that lasted 2 hours to find a jury duty summons in my mail.

"Lost In Hollywood"
[Daron moans a little bit]
I'll wait here,
You're crazy,
Those viscious streets are filled with strays,
You should have never gone to Hollywood.
They find you,
Two time you,
Say you're the best they've ever seen,
You should have never trusted Hollywood.
I wrote you,
And told you,
You were the biggest fish out here,
You should have never gone to Hollywood.
They take you,
And make you,
They look at you in disgusting ways,
You should never trusted Hollywood.
[Serj moans now]
I was standing on the wall,
Feeling ten feet tall,
All you maggots smoking fags on Santa Monica Boulevard,
This is my front page,
This is my new age,
All you bitches put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care.
All you maggots smoking fags out there on Sunset Boulevard.
All you bitches put your hands in the air and wave them like you just don't care.
Phoney people come to play,
Look at all of them beg to stay,
Phoney people come to pray.
[Serj and Daron Harmonize]
(The lines in the letter said, "We have gone to Hackensack")
Look at all of them beg to stay
Phoney people come to pray.
All you maggots smoking fags on Santa Monica Boulevard,
All you maggots smoking fags out there on Sunset Boulevard.
All you maggots smoking fags out there on Hollywood Boulevard.
You should have never trusted Hollywood.
