I recently tried to play a tcp/ip game with a friend. We both have the cdv version of the game (UK) and experienced a crash every time we attempted to play by this method, in turn one or two. Generally, my opponents game would crash to the desktop while calculating the turn data, and i would then get the 'connection lost' dialogue.
Apparently the only difference between the cdv and battlefront.com versions of the game is the copy-protection system used, so we decided to try using a crack to remove the copy protection.
We found a cracked executable for the battlefront version of the game, and replaced the installed cm afrika corps.exe, which worked like a charm.
So there you go. CDV need to get their act together and sort out the copy-protection.
And remember kids, cracks are evil. Don't do it.
