Just want to say how impressed I am by the visuals in v1.03. Even the dreary old desert floor is fantastically detailed, with bits of shale and pebbles and lifelike grains etc. The rubble, the rocks . . . it's almost photo-realism. Oh yeah, and the light at dawn reflecting off the vehicles. Quite amazing. Well done, BF!

"The rubble, the rocks . . "
and sand also. There's one Quick Battle map that's just sand and hills. Still looks very good.

Actually, it is too beautiful to be a real wargame now!
Just another proof of BFCs sell-out to the ... [contd.]

On a more serious note, there is a problem with high view points and vegetation. The trees look like the billboards that they are, but they do not face towards the observer like they should (and did, in CMx1) on high view points, but rather face the point underneath the camera, therefore collapsing to a line at high view levels.
Something, that should, perhaps, be fixed in a later patch!

Yeah especially sandy terrain is superb. Still as Rollstoy said, trees need some work. When distancing the camera from the ground shadows disappear and they look like floating in the air. They need some underbrush to blend with the terrain a little better. Map designers should have this in mind and combbine trees with brush/grass etc.

What a nice surprise these new graphics are, what an improvement! It's even more fun and immersive now to zoom in on your squads on the ground. Thank you BF!
