question about old copies vs new copies of CM

I have the original CMBO and the original CMBB
I see in the stores now there are shelf copies with lots of new "stuff" added to them.
How can I upgarde my old copies for new copies?
Must I buy New?

You would have the purchase these 'new' games, there's not 'tradeup' program.The 'new' copies are published by CDV.

They don't have anything really 'new' to them, they just offer mods that are freely available for download on the internet on a second CD (or the same CD in the case of CMBO). So for users who already have the game they only provide a convenience of having the mods published on a CD.

I'm not even sure if the CDV release of CMBB has v. 1.03 on it or if you have to download those patches too.

Yes the CDV version (Special Edition) is 1.03.
