Graphics Crash after hitting ESC

Title says it all. Can always recover by reloading game, but it's annoying.

Specs:

K7-700Mhz w/128 RAM
Win98 SE
DirectX 7.0
Nvidia GEForce 256 w/32MB
Driver: Nvidia 4.12 (5.18.2000)

I've seen a similar but not identical problem on the board, but it was for a different card. Any ideas.

Try DirectX 7.0a?

Any tweaks you can do on the card's control panel?

Perhaps try nVidia's reference drivers v5.22 dated 5/31/2000?

i have the same problem .. when in hit the esc. key or do an alt-tab.. to minimize the game the next time i try to get back into the game off the task bar the game closes down.

16meg nvida video card drivers date 5/18/200
190 meg ram
1152x864 screen res.
win/98
dirX 7.0a

will check the updated drivers for 5/31/200
any ideas??

just to round out the thread, I installed the latest version of directX, and it seems to work fine now.
