Howdy all,

After reading through the Creating Scenarios instructions, and realizing just how easy it would be to create one in comparison to most other games, I've decided to give it a shot.

FYI- The image editor I'd be using is Adobe Photoshop Elements 3. I can get the general idea for my map laid out (Shapes.. land will be here, water will be here sorta thing), but my problem lies in actually creating the textures. I see all of these really complex ones by looking through the files for other maps that were created, but I have no idea how these are being done.

So basically.. how do y'all go about making the grass textures and whatnot? Any particular method? (FYI- This will be green grass, not yellow).

Thank yas

Iceman, does Photoshop support 16bit greyscale images? If not you will get pretty bumpy maps.

i think the question was regarding the coloured texture map not the heightmap Tanki

Aye, the colored map. The stuff that appears before the detail textures do.

Good link, mate. The problem is that I'm running OS X. I guess I'll keep poking around for now.

you can do something similar with Paintshop pro using Gausian monochrome noise and gausian blur to create patterns. I would think your photo shop would do it too.

If you want something specific that you can describe I can probably generate some for you.

I didn't misunderstand the question, I was just wondering if you were creating the heightmaps with Photoshop as well.
