Am able to get through training missions 1 and 2 without an issue. When the game saves and then loads training mission #3 (Fire Support Training), the application crashes to desktop.

Just wanted to add to this.
Looks like if I cancel the save at the beginning of training mission #3, the game won't crash. If I select save, the game crashes 100% of the time.
Missions #1 and #2 did not show this behavior and I was able to save them without a crash.

I'm seeing the same problem...

Same problem for me, I have to try out to cancel the save.
The second training mission crashed also after being loaded right after the first one, but after a reboot and reload it was fine.
My specs:
CMSF battlefront 1.01 version
1,7 Ghz centrino mobile
radeon x700 mobile, 128 Mb
1024 Mb ram
Windows XP SP2

Same problem for me. Intel Core 2 duo 2.16 GHz, nVidia GeForce Go 7600 (256 MB RAM), 2 GB RAM, Win XP Pro Svc. Pk. 2.
I noticed that my crash occurred after the first training campaign mission, when it asked me to save the game. I tried to do so, using the default save file name (Training Mission 001). As I had previously played all through the Training Missions, a file of that name existed already. I postulate that the crash occurs because I am trying to save over an existing file.
Anyone able to confirm that behaviour?

Interestingly, the game also crashes out to the desktop when I try to load said save game file.

I,m having the same problem, I tried changing the save game name from the default 001 name, but it still crashes after it goes through the load screen.
I'm using a HP Pavillion Laptop W/ Windows XP Media Center Edition and SP2.
an AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile 1.61 Ghz
2 GBs of RAM
a GeForce Go 6150 onboard video card w/ 256 MBs of VRAM.
I'm having no problem with the single battles, played two last night and they went without a hitch.
I am using the single processor work around with no other problems.

FWIW, I'm getting the same exact problem now on the 3rd mission of the main campaign.
BF, any thoughts??

Same here, crashes when loading training mission 3 after previous autosave. Doesn´t seem to be a problem otherwise. Have played some scenarios without problems.
Was thinking about possible heat problem, but GPU showed 63 degrees Celcius after a good go, so that shouldn´t be it.

This is strange. I didnt have crashes as you descibe but I the game started to lockup on mission #3 when it had been runnng perfectly on other battles. I then tried other battles and experienced the same lockups after the problem with mission #3. Its almost as if this mission was the trigger for the lockup problem posted eslewhere on this forum.Setting affinity seems to have cured the problem.
Machine specs are:
AMD DUO E6000
Nvidia 8800GTS
4gig RAM
Windows XP PRO SP2
I havent updated any drivers but the machine is only a month old. I bought it with TOW and CMSF specifically in mind.

Could it be corrupted save game file?

I have same prob too. The first scenario saved game works but the 2nd and 3rd do not. Havn`t had time to experiment with other situations.
The full system is crashing when I try to run the game and I advice about the management of memory. I'm using Vista 64 with the most updated drivers (I think). I reinstalled everything just to be sure. I also reinstalled the game with the unlicensing twice.

I've had the same problem. Tried all the suggested fixes and still the game crashes out to windows when I try to save, or when I try to load the save game. However, if I cancel the save option than the mission loads fine.

I'm now also getting 3rd campaign mission freeze. I don't get a CTD, but the mission stops loading at 55% and does nothing. I had done multiple saves in the campaign before including in Mission 3 and loaded with no problem, this just started last night.
