Guys hi

Spent most of the week working on this, a large rural map, with close terrain and infantry action in mind.

1200x900 metre

http://www.btinternet.com/~petewenman/webpicstore/CMSF/sf1.jpg

http://www.btinternet.com/~petewenman/webpicstore/CMSF/sf2.jpg

I'm working on a couple of scenarios, but if anyone wants the map, drop me a line, and feel free to use it/amend it anyway you like

30/08/07 uploaded to CMMods.com (http://CMMods.com) for anybody else that is interested.

I've tried to see what the editor and a little lateral thinking will allow to be created, hence the toll booths, and downed highway bridge. Lots of little details, but let me know what you think

Lovely map but I think most computer systems just now would not be able to run a battle on it due to LOD issues and whatnot :(

A real shame.

Same here would like to have that map as well.

Make sure you put CM:SF on the subject line so that I don't delete it by mistake.

Looks awesome!
I'm also a bit concerned about the framerates, but heck, I'm looking forward to seeing scenarios based on this map. smile.gif

Pete,
Congrats! Your map looks very realistic and full of tactical possibilities.
Are you planning to post it somewhere? I would like to give it a try, I am not too fond of flat desert terrain... ;)
Or else if you can post it to me:
panta@netgate.com.uy
I promise to give you some feed back and eventually create some setup (No AI, it takes too long, better play e-mail).
Cheers,
Panta

Thanks Pete for the map. I just ran it and its about 9 to 10 FPS. Not bad at all.

I'm seeing a scenario where its an airborne infantry Bn trying to hold the town from the enemy until reinforcements arrive :D

Now to dig through my paper work for the OOB for the 1-502nd 101st Airborne.

Well if you look at the post above the one you just posted :D I'm working on a scenario, but will make some changes to the map. It will be infantry base scenario. No major tank battle :D just infantry fighting infantry ;)

Beautiful map, i would love a copy. My email is kpg8686@gmail.com

Also, if you get tired of emailing it to every individual who asks, you should upload it on a free file hosting site, here (http://savefile.com/upload.php) for example.

Hey guys,

If Pete, for whatever reason, can't upload the map, maybe someone that has it can do it and provide a link.

Later Pete can edit in a link to the first post.

just a thought.

That map looks fantastic. I think you will be a big player in the CMSF quick battle map business. smile.gif

For those of you who want to use big maps like this, but are concerned about framerates...remember that you can crop the map within the scenario editor, and just use portions of it. That's good news for makers of smaller scenarios.
