CM Troubleshooting Page (http://www.battlefront.com/support/cmtroubleshooting.html) - Discusses common problems w/ CM including transparent text issue.

Some problematic BMP/WAV files:
** 1503.bmp - Background terrain image used off-map.
** 30000.bmp, 30001.bmp, 30002.bmp - In-game fonts. See Corrupted Text post (http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=002451) for how to fix a corrupted font. For transparent font problems (it's a driver thing), see the CM Troubleshooting link above.
** 613.bmp - Road/bridge bmp.
** 00000171.wav - Exit game sound.
** 00002080.wav - 'Ja' sound made when German gunner kills enemy vehicle. Sometimes sounds like Alvin and the Chipmunks because is incorrectly recorded at 22kHz. It should be recorded at 44kHz, 16-bit, mono. For how to fix, see Strange Sound Loop (http://www.battlefront.com/cgi-bin/bbs/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=8;t=002419) thread.

Additions/corrections welcome.

Actually there is only one bmp used for the background terrain texture, 1503. Changing 1553 will have no effect on it even if you are using high-res grass

Nice list, BTW

My hats off to you my friend.

But where are the Tiger (http://www.angelfire.com/md3/grossdeutschland/) and CMMOS Universal Carrier (http://www.angelfire.com/md3/sleevemods/cmmoscarrier.htm) mods listed on your site? Thanks.

- 2123 Ausschwärmen ("spread out", East European accent)
- 2130 Panzer (German voice)
- 2131 Da! Feindlichen Panzern ("There, enemy armour", German voice)
- 2140 Für Vaterland? (The legend No 1, barely German speaking, grammatically incorrect warcry, probably used when berserking or fanatic)

- 2142 Steht auf und kempft ("on your feet and fight", strong East European accent)

I am leaving out the various cries-of-pain wavs.

Obviously, some recording studio has hired people claiming to speak German with no possibility of verifying the fact redface.gif )

Oh thanks smile.gif

I have been reading posts here for quite a few years actually. From when the development of what was to become CMBO was about half a year old I think. My sudden joining the membership ranks and posting was merely me being overwhelmed by this impulse that I might for once contribute and not simply indulge in my habitual parasiting on the excellent knowledge of others ;)

Just now found that same list published though, in a more easy-to-read variant, sans comment on German pronounciation, at the already mentioned http://britmods.freehosting.net/voices.htm

Though I really think 2001 and 2004 should read "Auf dem Sprung" rather than "Auf zum Sprung". The first means "on the jump" literally but it also carries the same meaning as English "on the run", or in military lingo "on the double". The latter means "on to the jump", as if urging to make ready to perform a jump.

Good to learn that my missing 2121 should read "Nach den Seiten sichern", i.e. secure the flanks. My missing 2017 should apparently read "Nichts wie weg hier", meaning "nothing like away (out of) here", a very strange syntax. All evident on the in many more ways than this excellent site at the above URL.
