Is is possible, or is it planned, to be able to change play modes during a game?

For example, suppose a friend and I start a "hotseat" game, and want to carry on via PBEM?

Or even the ability to let the computer pick up your opponent's PBEM side, if he decides he's had enough and you want to continue. Or if you want to experiment with different "what if" possibilities from an interesting situation that developed from a PBEM game.

Thanks.

Hey Toad,

I asked for this capability a long, long, time ago. Along w/ timers for TCP/IP play. Steve said they were going to consider it and decide later. I know they are likely going to have the timers based on recent things Steve has said in a few other threads here. But I really havn't heard if we are going to be able to switch back in forth between play modes once a game has been started. I certainly hope the answer is yes. Steve, Charles? Yes? No?

Mikester out.

We don't allow switches from 2-player to 1-player because that would allow cheating.

But you can switch from, say, PBEM to hotseat and vice-versa. (And from/to TCP/IP once we finish that).

You can? How do you do that?
