WINDOWS INSTALLATION NOTE The Windows demo is a self extracting file. To install, simply double click the file. MAC INSTALLATION NOTE The Mac file is NOT a self-extracting installer. The file must be decompressed with Mac Stuffit Expander (http://www.stuffit.com). DEMO CONTENTS The TacOps 4 demo includes 4 scenarios, "Basic Training US", "Task Force Frolik 2", "Task Force Gallagher 6", and "Custom Scenario US Army". Basic Training US, is to be used with the electronic tutorial guide (Acrobat Reader PDF) in order to learn the key elements of the game. Task Force Frolik 2, pits a reinforced USMC Rifle Battalion against an attacking OPFOR motorized rifle regiment (BTR). Task Force Gallagher 6, depicts a US Army battalion sized task force (balanced armor and mech infantry) is conducting a mobile defense/delaying action against an OPFOR motorized rifle regiment (BMP). Custom Scenario US Army, is a blank scenario design template that can be used to examine the scenario creation and editing features in TacOps 4.
The demo can only load the 4 scenarios that are provided with the demo. The demo can not load saved game files produced by the full retail version of TacOps 4 and vice versa. The demo can not network play with the full retail version. There is a 15 turn limit in any mode of play when using the Custom Army scenario template. There is a 15 turn limit when using multiplayer teams mode with any scenario. Except as mentioned above, there is no turn limit for solitaire mode or for two player network mode. The demo will expire (no longer run) after February 1st, 2007 at which time an updated demo will be posted.
