Jason Logue from the Australian military magazine "CONTACT Air, Land and Sea" has written up a comprehensive review of Combat Mission Shock Force and CMSF: Marines. "Shock Force and the add-on Marines are a very worthy addition to the genre. It's as close as a wargame has got to simulating the environment thousands of troops are facing each day. A must-buy for wargamers." [ Click here to read the full review ] |

Leading french wargaming magazine Cyber Stratege has posted a review of the Marines module. Here are a couple of good quotes: "Some scenarios of the new module are really fascinating and offer furious fighting on very large and various landscapes (hills, cities, rural land). Probably one of the most impressive qualities of CMSF is without doubt the very large size of the battlefield and the diversity of landscapes. You add to this the excellent simulation of smoke, dust and ballistics and you can imagine the fabulous work done by the sole programmer of the game, Charles Moylan !" "The excellent improvements to the game engine deserve respect and bring CMSF, with the Marine module, to a really satisfying step. We can’t wait to get to the European Second World War Theatre now !" [ Click here to jump directly to the full review (french language) ] |
