Combat Mission Shock Force - Marines Module Announced

We are proud to officially announce Combat Mission Shock Force - Marines, the first expansion to Combat Mission Shock Force, one of the most detailed and sophisticated tactical ground combat simulations available. Shock Force - Marines is the first of several planned expansions of the Combat Mission contemporary warfare setting.

This first Module, adds a significant number of new formations, units, weapons, equipment and vehicles for both the US and Syrian sides, as well as brand new missions, maps and an all new campaign. General game engine improvements (such as Tactical Artificial Intelligence improvements, tweaking cover values and so on) are included as well, although they will also be made available to all existing Shock Force customers. This ensures that everybody plays by the same rules and experiences the same basic gameplay.

Combat Mission Shock Force v1.08 Patch Released!

I hope everyone enjoyed their April Fools Day yesterday. I for one, fell for a dumb prank hook, line and sinker!. What we have for you today is no joke though as we are extremely pleased to announce the release of the v1.08 Patch for Combat Mission Shock Force. The patch is available for owners of any of the three published versions of the game (Battlefront.com, Paradox Interactive, Gamersgate). In the past we have always released "all-inclusive" patches (which can be used on any previously patched or unpatched copy of the game) but this time, for the Battlefront.com version only, we are also offering a much smaller "incremental" patch which will upgrade the game from v1.07 to the new v1.08 level. The incremental patch is not available for the Paradox Interactive or Gamersgate versions of the game.

One of the reasons we are so pleased with the v1.08 patch is the sheer amount of content included. Over 70 different changes, improvements, fixes and new features have been added. This v1.08 Patch affects everything from the Game Graphics and Effects to the Tactical and Defensive AI Behaviors, Pathfinding, Spotting, Line of Sight, Weapons and Unit Data and more!

New game review posted on Gaming Shogun

Today we have added a link to a very nice new game review for Combat Mission: Shock Force posted on the website Gaming Shogun. Reviewer 'Mondopest' summed up his opinion with this tasty statement:

"After spending quite some time with Combat Mission Shock Force, I have to say it is one of the most fun battle simulations I have ever played. It has the eerie realism of an embedded journalist's footage coupled with the fun of a puzzle game. As previously stated, strategy is everything in this game. The game has a moderate learning curve but, once gotten the hang of, it is very rewarding."

Combat Mission: Shock Force v1.07 Demo
Released

Today we are happy to release the newly updated Combat Mission: Shock Force demo (v1.07). This demo features many fixes, user interface updates and performance improvements over the original demo, plus it includes a third (and brand new) playable scenario. Since this demo is based on the most current v1.07 game code, you also get access to the new pop-up unit command panel, customized hotkey functionality, the new high fidelity spotting model and hundreds of other AI behavior improvements, combat tweaks and game enhancements!

This demo includes two scenarios which can be played as either US or Syrian, plus a third scenario, "Demo Training" which was designed as a tutorial to be played from the US perspective. Both Real-Time and Turn-Based gameplay are available and all multiplayer modes are active (TCP-IP, PBEM, Hotseat) and you can even access and play with the full Game Editor (save function disabled). The demo also includes the original full 196 page game manual in pdf format.

If you are new to Shock Force, or if you looked at it before and wanted to wait to see how it played once it matured a bit, then this is the demo for you. We feel it truly displays the ingenious gameplay, innovative design and most importantly, the FUN that has always been the hallmark of the Combat Mission games.
