There is a lot of pretty stuff, the graphics are fantastic.
Sharp textures, beautiful models, lovely smoke and dust effects, tanks
blowing up real nice, everything's there. You can even deform the terrain,
real-time, with trench-digging equipment and all the buildings, radio
towers, etc are available to be blown up if you've got some HE ammo
to waste... The enemy tank AI is fantastic and hitting the maneuvering
targets is difficult as they stop, send a round your way, and then move
again or just stay mobile and send flaming hot death in your general
direction... If you've got a good system and a hankering to drive some
virtual Soviet-made steel horses through storms of enemy shells and
farmers' barns, this is the game for you.

T72: Balkans On Fire has been made with much thought and a careful
eye for quality and detail, meaning that it will entertain the simulation
fans out there for a very long while. It is definitively the new benchmark
in tank simulators and will doubtless be built upon to make an epic
experience for military hardware enthusiasts. The package gave me hours
of enjoyment and nail biting engagement; it even made me sweat with
suspense and convinced me that I was actually in a battle! I say this
even though I was not a fan of this genre when I started this review
- but T72 convinced me otherwise and I will definitely be going back
for more. Sure, it's not perfect, but T72's longevity, engaging gameplay
and excellent graphics make it one for the collection!

As a tank simulator, T-72 is a ground breaking game in
the genre. Not only because games like it are rare, but because of its
unusual setting, and the highly unforgiving realism. The difficulty
level can be too much for even the veterans of simulator games. Playing
the game and commanding your tank is quite easy. The real challenge
is to learn the secrets of modern tank warfare. And unlike many other
simulators, T-72 doesn’t forgive if you make mistakes, but that
also makes it very rewarding to play, when you succeed.
