During the 1970s the Philippines issued a complex Brush patterns in couple of different colorations (at least 2 that I know of). I don't know more than that it was dropped not too long after it started to see service. The material is a stiff, but not thick, cotton weave.

Notes

Philippino Marines wear this dark Ameoba type camo. The colors are rather dark, making it less effective than it otherwise could be. The material is ripstop cotton and is cut in an American BDU style. |

The Philippino Army wear this uniquely colored DPM type camo. It is cut similar to their other uniforms and uses a stiff ripstop fabric.

The Philippines have a long history of camoflage, none of which appear to last in service for very long. This Tiger Stripe pattern is used for their Navy's special forces units.

Notes
|
Like many nations, national police forces in the Philippines (PNP) wear camo uniforms when on operations. The PNP pattern is only used by them, but is very similar to the old US 6 Color Desert pattern. The original version of this pattern has a pink background (see left) and is printed on ripstop cloth. This changed a few years ago to use smooth cotton with slightly different colors (see middle). Earlier last year a small color change was made to the background color, giving it a more rose/gray look than before (see right).

Notes
|
Current issue dense DPM pattern in blue tones. My understanding is that this uniform is either on its way out or already pulled due to great disatisfaction with it in the field. Go figure!
