The pictures and information seen on this website are nothing more than a reflection of my personal collection. Detailing my medium sized collection is work enough without dealing with the many hundreds of patterns not in my posession. Therefore, many patterns are not discussed on this website even though they might be quite common.
This website is not intended to be used for anything more than "entertainment". Because so much of the information I come upon is hearsay or 5th hand info, I can make no claims of accuracy site wide. Having said that, I try hard to make it plain to the reader which pieces of information are more confirmed than others. Any language that implies uncertainty (on my part or others) is there for a reason! Anything stated clearly and plainly is accrurate as far as I know. However, if a "(?)" is seen right after a "fact", then that "fact" is not something I will bet money on :-)
For sources I wish to thank several of my fellow collectors in particular (in no set order):
Tamás Baczoni, Eric Larson, Jeff Sesko, Henrik Clausen, Leo Carlin, Mark Campbell, and too many others to note. Any mistakes on this website are my own and not a reflection on these fine collectors!
I also wish to acknowledge Dr. Borsarello and Daniel Peterson's many publications on camouflage items. As far as I am concerned they are the two founding fathers of this hobby.
I am always pleased to have corrections sent to me by readers. I assume such corrections are made in the spirt of making this public website more accurate for the next person who comes upon it. However, please understand that I do not offer credit on this website as a general rule of thumb.
All full size images on this site were scanned at the same resolution, then reduced 50%. Everything is in scale with each other and orientated vertically. I took most samples from the backs of jackets (avoiding seams as best I could) and from shelter/ponchos. When I first started this website 5 years ago I made the images highly compressed due to bandwidth issues. However, for the last couple of years I have kept the quality much higher and am slowly rescanning the old items to make them higher resolution. All scans are faithfully color balanced to the original scanned using a Macintosh. In case you aren't aware, a Mac's monitor is generally brighter and closer to real world colors than the average PC is set up for. Therefore, some of these images might appear darker on PCs than they really are in person. Recently I have tried to correct for this.
Please feel free to use the information on this website as you see fit. However, please do not use the images for anything but private use. If you wish to borrow something for public display, you may do so as long as you keep the copyright text intact.
