After the breakup of the Soviet Union this Schofield pattern became available. The colors vary greatly from one suit to another, to the point of looking like a different pattern altogether. I have included samples of four distictly different patterns above.
One interesting variation is the material used for the suit pictured on the far left. The cloth is a lot coarser than the usual ones. The other two use a more conventional, smoother cloth common to Soviet and other former Soviet Republic uniforms. |

No, this is not a blurry scan. This is a plastic like rain poncho that I picked up somewhere a couple of years ago. This is in the MVD's SMK pattern. It uses a similar technique employed by the Waffen SS Blurred Edge pattern. The edges of each color are "blurred" so that the resulting pattern has no hard edges. There are three patterns; Gold (left above), Blue (right above), and Gray (I don't have any of this yet). It comes in at least jacket/pants oversuit, helmet cover, hat, assault vest, and winter parka/pants set. I also have a rain poncho and assault vest in the Gold pattern, but have no idea if the other patterns have this or not. Items are all made in the same nylon type fabric.

I picked up a brand new suit in this camo. It is commecially produced uniform from Russian, even though it was sold as "Spentsnaz". I find that "Spetsnaz" is generally what people tend to say when they don't know what it is :-) Never the less, this is a very nice suit which is made to the exact same specifications as the tried and true Soviet/Russian pattern uniforms. There are no military tags, but instead there is a small red/black/white lable afixed to the side of the left brest pocket.
